P.S. Why would anyone who was interested in YouTube use a dial-up connection anyway?
I am not 'interested' in Youtube, per se. Occasionally they may have a video that I would like to see, that's all.
The problem occurs after twenty minutes has elapsed from the outset of any video being downloaded or viewed. If said video has not been completely viewed or downloaded to the computer within that time frame, which remains almost precisely the same regardless of kbps speed, the video download will terminate prior to completion. So, when the kbps speed is higher, I can get more of the video, when it is slower, I get less. Whatever I can get in twenty minutes is what I get. Period.
My ISP asked me to try a video from Google to see if this occurs there as opposed to Youtube, seeing as they have the same ownership. I shall look at Google Videos, but I think they have now incorporated all of the videos previously hosted at Google over to Youtube. At least that appeared to be the case last time I looked at Google as I was exploring this issue.
