Judy,

Here are the new settings:

http://help.rcn.com/solution.asp?id=GUIDfb173f39%5F5192%5F4fe3%5F8a8b%5F9bb47043ce15&resource=&nShowFacts=&nShowCause=&nShowChange=&nShowAddInfo=&number=0&searchtype=normal&searchclass=&bnewsession=True

They have switched from StarPower to RCN, so the new servers are pop.rcn.comand
smtp.rcn.com, you will have to edit your Account Settings in Thunderbird to
reflect this change.
