I have an ActiSys ACT-IR4000US USB IR port that doesn't work anymore. I have WinXPsp2 up to date and the latest drivers for the device (not the native WinXP ones the manufacturer says will NOT work). WinXP device manager showed a "bang" under hidden devices titled "IRDA Protocol" which I uninstalled there. Upon reboot, no problem, but the IRDA device doesn't show up as a port. I don't find ircomm.sys anywhere. Is there a fix for this or do I hafta do a "repair install" of XP which is a pain and often leads to other problems afterwards...??
