>Apple or any of its employees do not accept or consider unsolicited
>ideas, including ideas for new advertising campaigns, new promotions,
>new or improved products or technologies, product enhancements,

It is one of those damned if you do and damned if you don't situations.

I'm sure most of us have read of patent trolls' attempts to plunder
corporations over their supposed intellectual property. If Apple did not
send out notices like this they would be deluged with junk mail with
"product ideas" from trolls and every new product Apple introduced would
start a flurry of IP suits.

On the other hand, letting their own lawyers run amuck is going to be
damaging to any company's reputation. This is especially bad when the
company doing it is so well loved by its customers.
