You can pick up an adapter kit at the Boots drug store when you arrive at the airport in the UK or in town at any "discount" place [HAHAHA, there's no discount places in the UK, try Sainsbury or Tesco or one of the little shops in hypermarkets].

One plug converter is $10 at Radio Shack. REI [camping] has a kit of 5 for $10--online and in store. I charge my phone and iPod in the cars we rent, or use a Duracell universal charger with USB port and car adapter [CEF23]. Don't get the one-piece gizmo that's supposed to work for all plugs--it doesn't--too bulky.

>I have been told that I just need a plug adapter (3 prong UK to 3 prong >US). My HP charger is rated 100-240 volts so that seems OK but the wire from the wall outlet that plugs into the charger says 120 volts! Do I >need to get a new wire? Can I get it at Radio Shack?

You can get that at CVS too (at least you can in Washington).

Charger specs look OK.

Don't forget that you have to type on the opposite side of the keyboard.
