I also applaud the shorter footer. The old one was particularly bad for those of us who get the digest version of the list. I've always been a little annoyed at having to scroll past the nearly 2 inches of footer in each message, not to mention all the extra ones in quotes and quotes of quotes, etc.*
While I'm grousing about it, is it possible to configure the digest so that the footer only appears at the end of the digest and not at the end of each message? I agree with those who say that the footer should have a complete url that most mail applications will turn into a active link.
