Despite the rain, there are scores of folks standing at the curb at Freedom Plaza (13th & E Street NW) waiting to unload your car full of computer junk. We just dropped off a dozen computers and a dozen monitors plus bunches of old hard drives, CPU cards, mobos, and perpiperals. As we pulled up they said "you don't even have to get out of your car." I did because I was sitting on an old and huge 1x CD-ROM drive.
Besides smiles, they also gave us brochures, a CFL, and a cloth Whole Foods bag to use for shopping trips. The event lasts until 3 PM. The only sad part was that most of this computer junk still worked and I remember all too well how much I paid for it.
