I'm sure that some the our xNIX gurus will show you the way. I have used some amazing UNIX online automated software installers like CPAN. You tell it what you want to run, it figures out what libraries you lack, and installs everything you need. Quite amazing. Lacking such tools you can get bogged down in an endless chain of missing modules. Every time you load one, it tells you that there are 3 or 4 other things you need to make it work and each one of those will in turn tell you what it needs.
