I don't have a Blackberry but I do know that there is
third party OS X syncing software for Blackberries,
The Missing Sync for Blackberry as well as PocketMac,
which seems to be what RIM promotes.

I seem to recall that bluetooth-enabled Blackberries could
do quite a bit (but not everything) without any special
software at all. That has certainly been the case with
my LG phone.

If your user is really insecure, for $79 + some time, your
user could clone his entire laptop into the mac using
Parallels or VMWare and run his old software on a
virtual machine. My experience with Parallels is that
it can be made to forward a new USB connection to
the virtual machine, even if it is something that is not
natively recognized in OS X.

Subject: Blackberry on OS X

I have a user think about adding a OS X machine to his computers. Currently he uses WIndows XP on a desktop and is phasing out a Windows laptop. He usage is mostly basic: web surfing and email. The one one item which might be a yellow flag is his blackberry. Is the experience of the Blackberry software mostly the same on either platform? Are there any 'gotchas' we need to look out for if we add an iMac or a Macbook Pro to the equation?

Any anecdotes, thoughts, comments, insights are appreciated.

Thanks,

Rocky
