Nokia 6010--like a Shure microphone--tough enough to hammer nails [well, brads or #4 finishing nails]--great phone, but doesn't do well inside a Big Gulp.

I gave my 6010 to my husband after unlocking it. He pays about $50 a year with 7-11 SpeakOut. All of their refills $25 and above expire in a year, and unused minutes roll over. SpeakOut uses the AT&T network and has better coverage where we live. T-Mobile minutes are 5 cents cheaper, but who cares if you only make one or two short calls a week.

I have the cheapest T-Mobile plan using an unlocked Nokia 3220, and an unlocked Moto SLVR for travel, and am considering switching to the same PAYGO plan as Tom's instead of the contract. I kept the contract for international calling--actually, texting--while overseas, but am getting a free prepaid SIM from United Mobile through MoneyBookers.com as soon as I decide whether to have a number in the UK or Lichtenstein, http://www.united-mobile.com/moneybookers/?l=en.

Nope. I'm still with TMobile. I purchased a year's more time: 1150 minutes for $100 plus my unused minutes rolled over. So far I'm buying $50 and $100 in alternating years so I'm averaging $75/year for cell service.
