Terry, I have cable modem, basically connected 24/7.
My OE generally does not normally "directly" communicate to the internet,
rather it generally will interface with ChoiceMailOne to catch email spam.
This set-up has been the case for several years.
On "desktop icons" ???
I don't use the desktop, really. But if you are asking if double click and
right click worked everywhere else OTHER than for OE email attachments?
Yes, I tested its functionality on the Task Bar, in IE, in Firefox, in
Excel, in Acrobat, with accessing Windows Home Server and in numerous other
business related programs and even elsewhere within OE as well.
Other than double click and right click for email attachments in OE -
everything else worked normal. - and now that I am at work for a few hours
this morning (with no computer rebooting since the problem was here last
night) everything is working fine.
Still no Symantec virus indications either.
Colin

Does it do it when you're not connected to the internet...on you're desktop
icons?
