When you use the VGA cable the LCD is connected to the Mac via an A2D converter and mimics an analog multi-sync monitor. So the Mac;s System Preferences present you with a set of VGA options. Whan conncted via DVI the Mac knows exactly what you have, there is no A2D conversion, and you get the correct options for the LCD. ************************************************************************* ** List info, subscription management, list rules, archives, privacy ** ** policy, calmness, a member map, and more at http://www.cguys.org/ ** *************************************************************************
