I'm trying to install tools for Visual Studio Express and I'm consistently
getting this message:
These pre-release products might include, but are not limited to, the
following:
- Windows SDK .Net Tools
- MSDN Library for Visual Studio 2008 Beta 2 - ENU
- Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Professional Edition - ENU
- Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Office Runtime 3.0
- Microsoft Windows SDK Intellisense and Reference Assemblies
(6001.16533.121)...
The error window also had a link to the page below:
http://www.microsoft.com/express/support/uninstall/
That had more items that I should uninstall. Initially I did have some of
those items and AFAIK they're all gone. I suspect there are remnants of
those items above that are keeping the install from finishing. I tried
using Your Uninstall to take those items out; I also tried to remove some
registry entries and possible leftover folders but nothing seems to work.
Is there any way to get the installer to ignore any program fragments or
find what it's having problems with?
