You benefit from them too. Apple is a far stronger company due to the 
iPod and iPhone. This diversification makes it far less likely that a 
change in market conditions would cause the demise of the computer you 
love.

Apple tried to diversify before with products like the Newton PDA and 
Apple Camera, but these did not succeed. I'm glad they kept trying to 
diversify.

Dell and other computer makers tried to diversify too, but were not 
successful. This may cost them their futures.
