Another question on web cams, specifically the iSight camera (not the
built in version, but rather the one that magnetically attaches to the
top if the iMac). Is there a way to see it outside of using iChat? I
can't find anything that's asking for one. I'd like something that
would allow me to see it in real time and then either record, or
broadcast, or both. In other words, I'd like to be able to use it as a
video camera of sorts. My Sony video camera won't work because I don't
have a firewire cable for it. Even if I did, I'd still be lacking
anything that would allow me to control it via the iMac. Any
suggestions?

It will work if you set your frame rate low enough. Figure each frame
will be about 500kb and that you won't really get 768kbps. So 1
frame per
second should work. (Until Comcast caps you.)
