My default browser is Mozilla SeaMonkey. I also use Firefox and Camino, sometimes Opera. I avoid Safari because it has a lot of serious problems, unless I need to hide my browser type and OS. For Entertainment coupons, I print to Preview from SeaMonkey, and view the coupon. It's usually OK from SeaMonkey; today it didn't work in Firefox, only SeaMonkey.

Send another message to Entertainment.com, or call them. Tell them that they lose money when their site isn't compatible with more than one browser and more than one operating system [IE is Windows-only?]. Ask them to fix it so that it works with Mozilla browsers and Safari, which uses a similar engine to the new Google browser. Remind them how fast the Google browser could gain popularity when it's out of beta. Let us know if they reply.

OT: Will you get the new Entertainment book? A lot of my favorite restaurants aren't in there any more, and many others are out of business. My book expires [Delaware edition, incl. PA, MD] on Saturday, and I'm not sure whether to renew. OTOH, we go out to dinner twice using the coupons and the book's paid for. Your thoughts? Offlist is OK.

To Entertainment.com:

I had a problem printing restaurant coupons on http://www.entertainment.com
using Safari 3.1.2 on my iMac running Mac OS 10.5.5.

Your representative told me that your site isn't compatible with my browser,
and that I should use Internet Explorer.

I exercised an option on Safari that lets me have Safari just tell your site
that it's an Internet Explorer, even though it's still actually Safari.
After that, I had no problem printing the coupon. So there's nothing wrong with my
browser, it's just that your software limits who it wants to deal with. This is akin to
saying "You can't eat in my restaurant because I don't like the color of your
skin."

There is no excuse for this type of behavior.

Please change your policy and accept any browser which adheres to internet
standards.

I look forward to your response.
