I just looked and the wireless thermometer I'm using is a 915 MHz unit. Seems
to work OK. I don't have a cordless phone nor a wireless router at home, so
interference with/by them is not an issue for me, at least not in the same
household. Dunno what the neighbors may be using. I've had the wireless
thermometer for a few months now, probably June or so.

It appears to use "La Crosse Technology Instant Transmission." The model
number is WS-9121U-IT

There are very explicit instructions for getting the receiver to lock on to the
transmitter. Take the batteries out of both receiver and transmitter, and wait
for a minute (let the units lose any settings they have). Put the battery into
the transmitter (remote sensor). Within less than two minutes, put the
battery into the receiver (indoor readout). If the link is established
properly, an icon will appear on the readout. If it doesn't appear, take the
batteries out and start over. It gets more complicated if you have multiple
remote sensors. My unit will service four remote sensors, but the additional
three have to be purchased separately.

I got the units synched while they were next to each other on the table
indoors, and then took the remote sensor outdoors and hung it.

Instructions are at http://www.lacrossetechnology.com/9121 according to the
data on the back of the receiver/readout device.
