Anyone suggested Skype as yet? It's really easy to set up (even I did
it! & a friend in Bangkok with whom I talk now every couple of weeks).
No charge if you're connecting computer-to-computer. The video and
audio connection is good, with very little lag even over the great
distance we connect. I don't know if you can connect more than 2
people at a time, but my guess is that you can.
You each need a Skype account. To connect with one another, you each
need to have your account turned on and one of you "phones" the other
from your computer. The 2nd person answers, and you're connected and
can talk. I haven't ever tried this with more than 2 people (only my
friend and I), but my guess is that you could have as many people
connected as have an account. When you are done the conversation, you
simply disconnect (turn off your account). Just like a phone. Then
there's no connection remaining.
