This is both a topic suggestion and a plea for help. I am looking into media streamers. Before you jump up and say, a product, listen to the use. I have tons of digital music that I want to have access to without the use of my desktop computer. I am currently cataloging and storing it on a LAN storage drive on my home network. For the ease of cataloging, I am using iTunes. I want to tie in a device on my stereo system that will allow me to access the music on this LAN drive. I have done my research on the AppleTV. It has wonderful interface, but is basically a big iPod. I don't want/need the device to store the media, only access it. I have also looked into a few other devices, but can't seem to find anyone who has done this. Most "audiophiles" either scoff at the thought of digital media or use Escient Fireball and that is not right for this task.
Some devices I have looked into, Netgear EVA8000 Digital Entertainer HD D-Link DSM-750 Logitech Squeezebox Duet Anyone have any suggestions or experience with these? Thanks!
