The autocomplete cachen isn't part of the .PST, nor is it based on the
current contents of the .PST; it's simply cached as you type addresses.

The cache is stored in a file with a .NK2 extension that is located in
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
(that's for XP; for Vista it's
C:\Users\<user-name>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook). I've never tried
this, but I would think you could transfer the cache by copying the NK2 file
from your Dad's old machine to the new one.

The NK2 file is probably hidden, so you might need to set Explorer to
display hidden files in order to do this (Tools->Folder Options->View->Show
hidden files and folders).

Regarding the To: button, that takes you to the address book, so that would
be empty if you haven't set up any addresses. It's completely separate from
the autocomplete feature.
