It is my understanding that some stuff will not run under Windows XP
Tablet software. Not sure which.
If you are looking for a desktop replacement stick with a regular
laptop and go with the Dell Latitude line.
I have a D531 which can have a desktop docking station which I use at
the office. Plug it in and use it like a desktop.

This is a variation on a previously asked question - Trying to decide
between a Tablet (probably an LE 1700) and a Laptop, not having either

laptops? If money was not a consideration (because another party will pay
for this) what are the pros and cons of the two? Would a tablet allow me to
get rid of desk top (and thereby save space by letting me dispense with
computer stand) in the same way a laptop would? Would I miss having the
CD/DVD drives or are these really that necessary anymore, with flash drives,
downloading directly off internet? Think I can get a separate portable
drive for the tablet. Any questions or specific factors I should consider
in deciding between the two? One drawback of tablet I'm aware of (at least
the one I looked at) - doesn't seem like you can use it with keyboard if
you want to type while reclining (not at a desk), which would be nice, as
have back, neck problems that make sitting up for long periods
uncomfortable. BTW, the laptop will probably have to be a Dell and
definitely a PC (not my decision, the party that is paying).
