True, but it isn't all from the pro-business side. The dems have huge financial support from labor unions (mostly government employees), trial lawyers, and did you notice that Wall Street firms and employees gave more to dems than GOP this past year?

The importance of your last sentence cannot be overstated.  It's why
it may be impossible to salvage many critical government programs,
e.g. health care.  The best solutions involve removing the need for
businesses that churn billions of dollars through our economy, like
health insurance - which spin off huge sums in support political
candidates.
