I would like to see the source data they used for tax levels, and if they included corporate taxes as well. Americans (and Europeans) pay a lot of layered on (sales, gas) hidden taxes (basically taxes that were paid by a provider) they don't really see, but do effect them.

I've mentioned before, the common knowledge that the people in countries there the taxes are high tend to feel more satisfied with life. So I dug up an article and a study to with charts and graphs that show this. (I know, it might be another Microsoft plot)
