Sorry, I thought it was back on since Tom took his potshots, just returning the fire with equal factless vigor! lol
So on to a real topic. If billions get spent into building infrastructure, who gets it? I mean if A company is doing well, does gummerment fund B company to the point where now they can compete with A company? In my home area Cox has been building infrastructure like a mad dog, speeds increasing, coverage increasing all the while Qwest has been worse then stagnant. Cox has had two speed boosts and a third is coming while I sit with speeds 20x less then what the competition is selling. So will we fund Qwest to build out and get them away from using DSL and into the real world, thus creating a real foe to Cox? Is that fair? Does it matter? I'm not sure in my view, I wish I had some real speed, or at least some chance of real speed somewhere in my future but I don't. I've also heard rumors that the proposal for the new smartgrid includes bandwith regarding internet, is that so? Anyone else heard these rumors? Should the internet move out of private and into some kind of public utility? On Mon, Feb 16, 2009 at 3:07 PM, Eric S.
