I notice in the iPhone ads that there is a lot of gesturing going on, and some of it I don't really understand. E.g., there's an app that you use to split a restaurant check or some such. It has a series of number wheels that you have to rotate by gesturing up or down. Without ever having used one of these, it doesn't look very accurate; I can easily visualize a slightly off-kilter gesturing causing a wheel to wind up at 4 or 6 when I wanted 5. I understand that there is a level of skill that one obtains, but still, wouldn't a simulation of a numeric keypad be faster, simpler, more accurate? Wouldn't five key presses be faster than five gestures no matter how good you are at it?
What am I missing? Is there a reason why the wheels are superior, or would a keypad be insufficiently cool, or what? ************************************************************************* ** List info, subscription management, list rules, archives, privacy ** ** policy, calmness, a member map, and more at http://www.cguys.org/ ** *************************************************************************
