What is the status of your WMP and other issues? Have you had any luck? ============================================================================ 1. I have given up on fixing the WMP issue of playing audio on some WMV files and not on others, while the audio does play when using VLP. I have given up because I have not been able to fine any solution. 2. After I tried downloading and installing the latest audio drivers from Creative, something went awry and I was receiving an "error loading P17.dll" message upon rebooting. It turns out that this dll was being called for in the system startup. I just unchecked its box and it no longer tries to load. This did not cause any other problems. 3. In trying to solve problem 2 above, I also attempted to run a system restore, but at the end of each attempt I was told that the restore was unsuccessful. I tried this on something like 4 or 5 different restore points. I have not yet "solved" that problem, but I did find a suggested solution (which I haven't yet implemented, but will shortly). The solution is to turn off creation of all restore points, reboot, and then turn it back on. This will remove all previous restore points and start fresh, apparently problem-free. (To accomplish this on XP: right click on My Computer/Properties/System Restore/check Turn off System Restore On All Drives. Then reboot, then go through the same steps but this time unchecking the Turn Off... box, and rebooting.) ************************************************************************* ** List info, subscription management, list rules, archives, privacy ** ** policy, calmness, a member map, and more at http://www.cguys.org/ ** *************************************************************************
