All advertising is deceptive in nature.

It is trying tog et you to go out and buy or vote or something for their advantage.

They will package it up and make it look much better, sounds much better, work much better than it actually does.

Any one bought the Shamwow? Or the Ginsu knives?

Come on Tom.

The Feds will step in if, (And this must be proven) they say something about a drug or a regulated commodity that is patently false or makes false claims.

FDA will shut down ads and it has that make false claims about drugs.

FTC will shut down ads, if a competitor can prove that the claims made in an ad are patently false (Again it must be proven.)

Listen to the language used in an Ad. It is usually vague and very often soft language making no particular claim, but intimating a claim.

I remember a church body having some very pointed ads on the TV a few years ago that were very misleading and they were still allowed to play.

It is the nature of the beast.

Apple Laptops are still about twice as much as a comparable Intel/AMD laptop. (Screen size and processor match.)

Tom I am surprised that your did not mention John Hodge of the MS/Apple commercials is not really a PC he uses a Mac.

And anything goes in the ole USA. In Britain the nasty old government
will actually order advertisers to stop running deceptive ads. Probably
happens in a lot of other civilized countries too.

But in the good ole USA...
