Hard to say. You could try the drives in another case or directly connected. Some years ago I returned a bunch of external drives and was having a generally bad time. Then I figured out when it was safe to use USB and when it was not. I now only buy cases that offer both USB and FireWire. I see new cases being offered that have USB2, FW400, FW800, and eSATA. I have not experimented with eSATA yet. ************************************************************************* ** List info, subscription management, list rules, archives, privacy ** ** policy, calmness, a member map, and more at http://www.cguys.org/ ** *************************************************************************
