Yes, and it makes it increasingly difficult to create filters that

So you only want the whiney posts like "I installed the service pack and
now have no audio output?"
My principal reason for subscribing to CGUYS is to exchange solution
assistance with others for our mutual "computing/ digital" problems/
needs. A useful resource made necessary by most company's minimal
support for their IT products.
I don't see these problem fix oriented posts necessarily as whiny
although I suppose occasionally they are written that way.
I posted a tech question about Windows a few days ago and got no answers.
Maybe your filter is working in reverse?
I increasingly have had the same experience with CGUYS.
Maybe people on the list with fix-it problem solving motivations have
gone away because of the increasing amount of yadda yadda chatter on
CGUYS or can't spend the time to wade thru the IT philosophical banter
to find the fix-it assistance posts that might interest them?
These days, when these chatter strings get going on CGUYS, they can
amount to 2/3rds of the emails visible in my inbox at any given time
which makes it difficult for me to easily spot important personal or
business emails ... no less CGUYS posts that would be of interest to me.
To free up/ protect my inbox, I have therefore taken to create junk
filters when I spot a CGUYS chatter string springing up. But that
takes more effort than I would like and is happening more frequently it
seems.
Don't know what the solution is.
Some lists and forums create additional lists or forums to fairly
accommodate different interests. Sometimes people leave and find other
lists that are for the time being at least better serving their interests.
