oops... I didn't see the first line the first time.
If all you need is a shared address book, setting up an LDAP server
would probably be the answer.
See: http://www.gracion.com/server/whatldap.html
Thunderbird / Tools / Account Settings/ Composition & Addressing is
where Thunderbird's LDAP settings are.
How do you handle your company mail now? Just tell whomever to add LDAP
services...

No Thunderbird is a email client software... not a server software.
But the good news is it works with most any server mail software.
You should give more particulars of exactly what you are trying to
do ... for how many people ... in what locations ... how often etc.
Describe it all. Then we could suggest an appropriate solution.

We have nine computers tied together that can all access a Dell that
stores all of the data for my company.
Is it possible to install Thunderbird on the "server" and have access
by anyone to a unique address book stored with Thunderbird and be
able to send email from the server using Thunderbird?
I understand that there will probably be a restriction of one user at
a time, but that is acceptable.
Thanks,
John.
