Hello all:

Having worked for non-profit organizations for more than 15 years, I thought
that the idea of being a "knowledge worker" was actually a new term that
evolved with advanced use of personal computers--which seemed to rise
exponentially with the birth of Internet. Around the mid-to-late 1990s when
people started to talk about the information overload that was packaged in
emails and digitally distributed reports, I also started people talk about
Knowledge as the proper packaging, distribution, and application of information.

It turns out, according to a book I just listened to called, "Thinking for a
Living: How to Get Better Performances And Results from Knowledge Workers
(Hardcover)", that the term is much older that I expected (Peter Drucker- circa
1960s). That said, if you consider yourself a knowledge worker, and the book
would suggest that many of you are, it's worth perusing.

Thanks, Arnold
