I have several forms of "print to .pdf" applets that provide the generation of a .pdf file of the print output of an/any application (shows on the print menu). None of them seem to preserve an active hyperlink, yet the .pdf file format clearly permits hyperlinks, since some (professionally produced) .pdf files do have them.
Does anyone know of a "print to .pdf" applet that will preserve hyperlinks? I'm looking for a way to "print to .pdf" web pages with their hyperlinks. The issues is with the hyperlinks where the displayed text is some generic description, not the exact text of the linked URL. With my applets, only the displayed text is contained in the .pdf file. The URL is not. The link is not active. Anyone know if full/pro Adobe Acrobat will do this? Or does one have to "edit" the .pdf file with Acrobat and manually insert the hyperlinked URL? I suppose that's possible, but would be a real chore. Again, the name of the game is to save a web page in .pdf file format, with active hyperlinks that allow the hyperlinked URL to be loaded in the browser by clicking on it in the displayed .pdf file.
