Even though the state of California recently decided to allow such devices to be mounted to windshields, the new law clearly says exactly where on the windshield the device may be mounted, lower left corner, how large a screen size is allowable, how far up into the windshield area above the dashboard it may protrude, and how many devices may be so mounted, which is only one. I saw a guy one day with at least five devices on his windshield, right in the center area below the rear view mirror. I am sure that if asked, he would maintain they did not interfere with his view. To say otherwise would be indicating his stupidity and who would ever do that? That's why you gotta have rules about such things.
