My wife emailed me an Excel database to merge into mailing labels. She is running Office 2008 on her MacBook Pro running 10.5. I am running Office X on my iMac running 10.4.11. I can open the file in Excel, but when I try to open it for a merge through Word, Word crashes. Do I need to upgrade my version of Office or is there a work around? I only do this mailing list twice a year. Other than that my main use of Office is to open documents others have sent me

P.S. - I do have an unused/legal licensed copy of Office 2008 that I can install.
