Not sure where you are seeing 350 unless you mean 350 euros.

I don't care about the contract, and sprint's contract ends up being a
better price then tmobile/at&t/verizon.  Again I have no need for a
worldwide phone.

I've got experience putting custom roms on unsupported phones and I really
don't want to do that.  Usually one or more of the radios don't work at all
or at least sometimes, and they can play havoc on a network.  I was using a
custom ROM on my old HTC dash with tmo and it would break mms between myself
and the network.
