I do both IMAP and POP with my main mail to thunderbird. I read the IMAP feed several places and like how it tracks things. The POP is a dump of everything for my records.
What is the relationship between MAPI and IMAP? MAPI is apparently a M$ protocol. The wikipedia references don't compare or cross reference them.
