It is a monitor. Just like you, I didn't think I would need drivers for it. But, There is a driver disc, that came with it. Probably because, the monitor has a USB connector, instead of a 15-pin connector. The disc got damaged and, I can't install the driver from the disc.

The same goes for mouse n' keyboard needing drivers. Since they are also USB.(but the disk is not damaged)
