It isn't as bad as it looks. It's an OS, not a war crime. Sure, a lot of people don't like it. A lot of people don't like a lot of things. That doesn't invalidate Windows. As far as the strategies, that's business. Why agonize over something you can't do anything about. The bottom line is that the OS does, with some tweaking, the task.
