Buses may begin operating fairly soon after a large snowfall, but bus riders are SOL because they cannot even get on a bus at most stops and drivers cannot let them off. Thus, most buses will run their routes mostly empty of passengers. Many pedestrians wind up in hospitals or morgues after heavy snows because they have to walk the same traffic lanes being used by cars, trucks and other vehicles.
