I got the phone very cheaply off eBay with no contract as I am convinced new players will enter the market shortly (viz Lycos opened a EU portal...). Anyhow, wm6.5.3 is already circulating on the boards but I haven't wanted to try it (generally I am not shy) until I see if others have good luck ...I am not so sure there is a way back to 6.1 in case of remorse...

The 7 product is very different from what you have and there is no upgrade path. It is unlikely that many developers will invest any more of their time on software for your phone. The best you can hope for is a bug patch or two before you go unsupported. In even worse shape are the vendors who are presently rolling out phones based on the 6.5 version. If they don't offer them at fire sale prices I doubt they will be able to sell them at all. I expect they will be taking a bath on this. It is enough to make one question the wisdom of teaming up with M$. ************************************************************************* ** List info, subscription management, list rules, archives, privacy ** ** policy, calmness, a member map, and more at http://www.cguys.org/ ** ************************************************************************* ************************************************************************* ** List info, subscription management, list rules, archives, privacy ** ** policy, calmness, a member map, and more at http://www.cguys.org/ ** *************************************************************************
