The first time I tried it, the remote was not in safe mode, and I just ran
"concordance -F file". I assume the default is live mode?

Anyway, subsequent to this, I retried the upgrade a few times whilst the
remote was now in safe mode (both due to not being able to boot, and via
by explicitly requesting safe mode by holding power during boot). In those
cases, I tried both "concordance -F file" and "concordance --direct -F
file", neither of which solved it...
