The website never asks which remote you have; it inquires
directly from the remote via Connectivity.EZHex, if I
understand the protocol correctly.

I already had an account setup for my remote using the
original HK software. When I use that ID to log into
http://members.harmonyremote.com/
the screen changes to the HK-branded site, requests me
to login a second time, and from then on, everything
proceeds as expected. The look and feel is slightly
different from the standard Harmony site, but seems to
have all the latest features (such as sequences), and
even some extras (reordering activities).

However, your question prompted me to see if I could start
over from scratch, using none of the original software, and
that led to a small problem. I was initially unable to
create a new account for my HK TC-30, using just Firefox
and the "members" site. When I got to the connectivity screen,
which occurs early in the account setup process, it failed
when the response from "concordance -t Connectivity.EZHex"
was received. I suppose it was expecting only a Logitech-
brand remote to register.

I then found that if I delete the cookie named "SKIN_ID"
(which must eventually contain "HarmanKardon" instead of
"Harmony"), and start from this URL:
http://members.harmonyremote.com/EasyZapper/ProcessCheckBrowser/CB_Finish.asp?ReturnUrl=%2FEasyZapper%2FNew%2FProcLogin%2FStart%2Easp%3FBrowserIsChecked%3DTrue%26SkinId%3DHarmanKardon
it finally generates a proper Connectivity.EZHex, or rather,
properly accepts the connectivity response from the HK
remote.

Hope this helps.
