If I was sure, I wouldn't need testers. However, if it's an Arch 8 there's a very, very small chance of a problem. Particularly if: * config update works well * firmware backup works well Then it would surprise me greatly if firmware upgrade didn't work. As for an alternative version, dumping your current version and re-uploading to the remote it would be a sufficient test for me.
