1) xscreensaver semble incompatible avec le BIOS de Toshiba,
en particulier avec la fonction hibernation.
2) L'installation de xscreensaver est obligatoire, car requis
pour gnome. Pourquoi cette obligation, car xscreensaver ne correspond
pas du tout aux besoins des utilisateurs de portable:
Ecran �teint, moteur du disque arr�t�, d�s qu'on laisse le PC inactif.
xscreensaver maintient une activit� disque et �cran permanente!
Ne pourrait-on pas r�viser les d�pendances?

When xscreensaver is running, and I do 'apm -s' or 'apm --suspend'
to put the Lib in hibernation, I see a black screen, and the screen
and disk leds are on during about 40 seconds. At end, the left led
(screen) is on, the disk is still spinning, but I cannot do anything
but insert a pencil in the hardware reset hole.
After uninstalling xscreensaver, hibernation works fine.
Where is the conflict between xscreensaver and Lib100 hibernation?
Is there a kernel option about this?

Is really xscreensaver needed by gnome?
All that want most laptop owners is a battery saver,
with screen off and disk stopped. xscreensaver does all the opposite!
So xscreensaver should be considered as on option.
