After my last post (below), I managed to make a little headway when I
realized that xulrunner is in the debian apt repositories even though
conkeror is not.  So I installed xulrunner from the repos.

Conkeror is downloaded into my home directory ( ~/download/conkeror ).

Now please let me know what parameters/setup to give xulrunner so that
I get conkeror off the ground.

I tried
$ xulrunner --app application.ini

but it did not do anything
