Thanks for your very prompt, but I seem unable to make it work.
Specifically, here's what I did:
Created .c/window-title.js with the contents
function my_title_formatter(window) { return "Conkeror"; }
title_format_function = my_title_formatter;
(.c is my Conkeror config dir.)
Then M-x reinit (no change); then quit and restarted Conkeror (still
no change).
