(1) The purpose of this synchronizer is to be sure we have only one API call to
an OSS instance for one index. This prevents memory leaks. I prefer this
approach than creating an additional thread with a submission queue.
(2) The inputStream is no more closed in the rc1 patch.
(3) The correct formatting has been applied.
