Yes, Solr 3.1 is the version we have waited for. It works almost out-of-the-box. The only thing which doesn't work properly is the encoding issue I mentioned about Norwegian characters for some PDF documents.
I will open a Jira ticket (Solr) about this, because I think they should upgrade the version of PDFBox to 1.5.0.
