Thanks for your consideration.

I'm a fan of systemd and Lennart's past work, including Avahi. Further, I
agree, long-term, it's the right architecture and design for the job.

However, when I started the project I am working on, systemd wasn't ready
for prime time in my assessment, so I chose to make use of the best, most
stable, most mature tools at my disposal at the time.

Archaic as PID files might be, this patch provides zero overhead for those
who don't want to or need to use the functionality it provides and provides
a valuable system integration hook for those that do.

I'm providing the patch not only for upstream integration consideration but
also for reference to those who now might be, as I am, tactically addressing
"How can I best and most stably integrate connman into the system I have
today?"

Architecturally, connman is a great vision and, implementation-wise, it's
getting there. I'm simply working to help try and move it forward, both
tactically and strategically. This is clearly a tactical submission.
