Hi all,

There's a thread[1] from early 2013 which concluded that the way to
statically configure wired Ethernet interfaces that are not connected is
by writing .config files to /var/lib/connman/. In my case, this seems to
require:

   1. Discovering the MAC addresses of the two interfaces by external
means, that is, not via a connman interface.

   2. Writing a .config file in /var/lib/connman/ using the discovered
MAC addresses and my desired settings.

   3. Restarting connmand for the settings in the .config files to take
      effect.

   4. Reading the .config files in order to show the desired
      configuration in a user interface.

   5. Repeating steps 2 and 3 any time a user makes changes.

Is this still the state of the art?
